“My very best wishes to CRAAB! and your wonderful volunteers and staff, who have given inspiration, hope and support to women with breast cancer over the last ten years.  What would we do without you?”

CRAAB! honors co-founder Dr. Patricia Stocking Brown,
(1942-2004)

Capital Region Action Against Breast Cancer! (CRAAB!) is a non-profit, community-based organization created in 1997 to make the eradication of breast cancer a priority through education, advocacy, and services. Our members’ personal experiences as survivors, caregivers, and informed health consumers, combined with our commitment to evidence-based medicine and informed decision-making, give our organization a unique perspective.

Our goals include supporting those affected by the disease on an individual and personal level; improving healthcare policy for all women; promoting innovative research on diagnosis and treatment; and focusing attention on the causes of breast cancer.

CRAAB! is an organizational member of the National Breast Cancer Coalition, which fosters active involvement in the science and politics of breast cancer, and a founding member of the New York State Breast Cancer Network. Without duplicating services of other cancer organizations, CRAAB! offers an extensive program of support and education services to the greater Capital Region, free of charge, including a highly informative newsletter, monthly programs, and an annual survivor-caregiver celebration.
